DePaul Hard-Tech Resource Map Demo
A prototype for finding DePaul facilities, people, equipment, courses, grants, publications, outputs, and proposal-relevant connections.
The resource map is the readable website. The connection layer helps answer research-development questions: who to talk to, what resources support a proposal, where evidence exists, and what internal data would make the answer stronger.
-
Ask the Map
Try proposal-style questions such as "environmental sensing," "student electronics fabrication," or "microscopy machine learning."
-
See Connections
View generated diagrams showing how resources connect to people, outputs, grants, publications, courses, and equipment.
-
Update the Map
See how new ORS proposal data, facilities text, and purchasing records can update the graph and regenerate answers.
Featured example
Example: A query for "microscopy machine learning" surfaced VIDA / MedIX / IMP Labs (CDM-011) and a Steans Family Foundation–funded project (GRA-026 — Steans Family Foundation-funded project (VIDA)) through documented graph links. This does not imply the foundation funded microscopy equipment unless evidence explicitly says so.
Diagram: documented grant–resource and person–grant connections only (not keyword matches).

This is the kind of non-obvious connection the map can reveal before a proposal is drafted.
What this prototype currently demonstrates
- A browsable resource map
- Generated connection diagrams
- Proposal-support search over resources, people, equipment, courses, grants, publications, and outputs
- Transparent synonym expansion
- Evidence-aware filtering
- Public vs internal-data separation
What ORS data would unlock
- Proposal abstracts
- Facilities/resources sections
- Equipment/instrumentation sections
- PI/co-PI and unit relationships
- Award status and funding history
- Purchasing and equipment records
- Public/internal/restricted display flags
